How it works
Calculate the sale price, amount saved, and discount percentage on a purchase.
A worked example
A 20% discount on a price of 150 saves 30 and leaves a final price of 120. Taxes and delivery are not included.
Before you use the result
These calculations describe gross amounts. They do not automatically deduct overhead, payment fees, returns, tax, or financing costs. A gross profit or margin is not the same as net business profit.
Keep inputs on a consistent basis. Use the same currency and time period, and check whether your amounts include tax. Calculations use full precision internally; displayed monetary values are rounded to two decimals.
Questions, answered.
How much do I save?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100. Subtract that saving from the original price.
Are two discounts added together?
Usually successive discounts apply one after the other. Two 10% discounts leave 81% of the original price, equivalent to a 19% total discount. This tool models one discount at a time.
Are tax and shipping included?
No additional tax or shipping is added. The result is a discount applied directly to the price you enter.
